Three Sailors Compete In Waszp Worlds
Three sailors from Bermuda competed in the Waszp Worlds championship, facing a global fleet of 247 boats in challenging conditions.
Following qualifying stages marked by heavy winds, the sailors were placed into separate fleets for the main event.
Trystan Hocking won the Green Fleet, finishing in first place with 26 net points. Over 11 races, he secured three wins and eight top-five finishes.
Rachael Betschart qualified for the top-tier Gold Fleet, one of only four female sailors to achieve that placement. She finished 51st overall and third among women in her fleet with 336 net points. Her best individual race result was a 25th-place finish during the qualifiers.
In the Bronze Fleet, Oliver Soares placed 27th with 434 net points. His top performance was a 14th-place finish in a qualifying race.
