Allied World Hosts Summer Internship Program
Bermudian students Jae Gibbons, Cody Rans and Ben Osset took part in Allied World Bermuda’s summer internship.
A spokesperson said, “Allied World Bermuda held an eight-week summer internship program in June and July this year with three talented Bermudian students. The interns included Jae Gibbons [Bournemouth University], Cody Rans [University of Exeter], and Ben Osset [McGill University].

“Allied World’s internship program combines practical learning, project work, individual mentoring, and training. The students rotate through different departments, including Property, General Casualty, Professional Lines, Operations, Actuary, Claims and Reinsurance. The program focuses on providing the students with a solid foundation for a future career in insurance.
“The interns interact and train with expert leaders throughout Allied World and are also given the opportunity to build broker relationships with an extended broker swap out program. In addition, the program included in-house sessions with presentations and projects from our various internal departments.”
Colm Singleton, Allied World Head of Bermuda Office, said, “Allied World is supportive of mentoring and providing career opportunities for the next generation of Bermudians entering the [re]insurance industry.
“Bermuda has very talented university students interested in our industry and our internship program is an opportunity for them to get exposure to a variety of potential career paths. We have recently hired two of our former interns which demonstrates the great opportunities this internship program provides.”
