BF&M & Argus Summer Internship Programme
BF&M and Argus, members of the Allshores group of companies, hosted 28 interns across five jurisdictions — including 22 in Bermuda – this summer as part of their annual Summer Internship Programme, reinforcing their commitment to developing young talent in the communities they serve.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda offices welcomed 22 interns. They contributed to operations and special integration projects, gaining practical skills, industry knowledge, and meaningful professional connections. Each intern was paired with a mentor for guidance and career insights during the course of the programme. Highlights included a CEO meet-and-greet to learn about the company’s vision, professional headshots with a LinkedIn coaching session, joining the annual pre-Cup Match celebration and cricket game, and volunteering at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo.
“From June to August, the programme placed students across a variety of departments, including Legal & Compliance, Facilities, Group Underwriting – Life & Health, Property & Casualty Operations and Claims, IT, Human Resources, Population Health, Pensions, Finance, Client Management, Benefits Insurance & Provider Relations, and the Medical Lab at Island Health Services.”
“Internship programmes like ours are more than a summer job for students — they are an investment in the future of our industry and our communities,” said Abigail Clifford, Group President and Chief Executive Officer. “By giving students hands-on experience, meaningful mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute to real projects, we’re helping them build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to thrive.
“This year’s interns were also our first cohort under the newly amalgamated company. They had the unique opportunity to see first-hand how two established companies come together to create something new — contributing not only to daily operations but also to integration projects shaping our future. In return, their fresh perspectives and ideas have helped us see opportunities in new ways, sparking conversations and improvements that will benefit our customers and communities. This exchange of ideas and energy is exactly why we remain committed to creating these opportunities year after year.”
Shania Wedderburn, Client Management Intern in Bermuda, shared: “My internship with BF&M and Argus was an eye-opening, motivational and incredibly valuable learning experience. It allowed me to grow both personally and professionally, build meaningful relationships, and work alongside industry professionals who challenged me to further develop my skills and aim higher. This opportunity also helped me understand the true importance of the industry and its impact on our community. Overall, my experience strengthened my determination to continue pursuing my goals, achieve meaningful accomplishments, and give back to those around me.”
