The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce welcomed Tyree Fox, Sherne McQueen, and Tori Richardson Jr. as 2025 summer interns, offering them hands-on experience in areas including business development, entrepreneurship and innovation.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce was pleased to welcome three exceptional young people as part of its 2025 Summer Internship Programme: Tyree Fox [The Berkeley Institute], Sherne McQueen [CedarBridge Academy], and Tori Richardson Jr. [Warwick Academy].

“Over the summer, the interns gained hands-on experience across core areas of the Chamber’s work – ranging from business development to entrepreneurship and innovation. At the centre of their placement was a collaborative project to help redevelop and enhance the Chamber’s visitor-facing tourism app, Explore Bermuda, ensuring it’s more dynamic and user-friendly.

“Additionally, the interns received a behind-the-scenes look at the planning and logistics that go into one of Bermuda’s signature events – Harbour Nights – learning first-hand how major community experiences are brought to life.”

“We’re so pleased to have had these students with us this summer,” said Chamber CEO Jennifer Woods. “They bring fresh energy and curiosity, and we’ve built this internship to give them meaningful exposure to the kind of work we do at the Chamber. They were given a real-world project – helping us update and modernize a tourism app that enhances the visitor experience and supports local businesses by stimulating economic activity for small businesses. It was a valuable opportunity to apply their skills while contributing to something tangible.”

Beyond that, the Chamber designed a well-rounded internship that reflected their individual interests and introduced them to key aspects of business, entrepreneurship and communications. “This wasn’t just work experience – it’s a stepping stone, and one we hope will open doors to future opportunities” Ms. Woods added. The programme also focused on building essential workplace soft skills, offering support in areas like resume writing, interview preparation, and LinkedIn profile development to help them navigate their next steps with confidence.

Meet the Interns

Tyree Fox, a Berkeley Institute student with a passion for football, fishing, and entrepreneurship, is excited about the opportunity to blend creativity with real-world impact. “I’ve always wanted to learn more about business, and this internship is helping me see how I can turn my interests into something bigger.”

Sherne McQueen, from CedarBridge Academy, has a love for math and plans to attend St. John’s University. “This experience is opening my eyes to different career paths. It’s giving me a chance to build confidence and connect with people who are passionate about what they do.” Sherne will be staying on with the Chamber for the remainder of the summer before beginning her post-secondary.

Tori Richardson Jr., from Warwick Academy, brings a sharp analytical mind and a strong interest in community engagement. “The internship is helping me understand how business on the island works and how small ideas can have a big impact when people work together.”

A spokesperson added, “The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce represents the collective commercial interests of its members to provide networking opportunities within the business community; to act as a conduit between private and public sectors; and to create community awareness and facilitate training.”
