Hashim Estwick Honoured With Diaspora Award
The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] congratulated Constable Hashim Estwick on receiving the Pride of Barbados Diaspora Award.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] is proud to recognise one of its own, Mr. Hashim Estwick, who was recently honoured in his home country of Barbados with the Pride of Barbados Diaspora Award.
“Mr. Estwick received this prestigious recognition for his outstanding contributions to community development in the Parish of St. Philip.
“His work included:
- Founding the Cottage Vale Community Group.
- Advocacy.
- Infrastructure improvements.
- Community health and safety programmes
- Educational and technological support.
- Cultural development.
- Empowerment projects.
- Social Justice Advocacy.
“Locally, Constable Estwick currently serves as the President of the anti-racism group Citizens Uprooting Racism in Bermuda [CURB]. He is the Reparations Committee Chair and facilitates vital Truth and Reconciliation Community Conversations for the public. He is also a board member of the Bermuda Fathers’ Resource charity, educating men on how to become great fathers.”
Bermuda’s Commissioner of Police, Darrin Simons, praised Mr. Estwick’s achievements, stating, “While these initiatives were carried out in Barbados, Mr. Estwick has demonstrated qualities that resonate deeply with the values the Bermuda Police Service; giving back to the community, and leadership. He has done exceptionally well, providing a clear example of how determination and service can transform lives and inspire others.”
The spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service congratulates Mr. Estwick on this significant honour and celebrates the positive impact of his dedication to service, both at home and abroad.”
