Lane Closure On Middle Road Begins Today

August 27, 2025 | 0 Comments

The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advised that, from Wednesday, 27 August 2025, a lane closure and one-way westbound traffic flow will be implemented along Middle Road in Smith’s Parish, from Crow Valley to Store Hill.

A Government spokesperson said, “These traffic changes are necessary to facilitate critical inspection and repairs to a compromised retaining wall in the area. The westbound-only traffic flow will be in effect 24 hours a day and remain in place until further notice.

“Eastbound traffic will be rerouted via Store Hill Road, North Shore Road, and Verdmont Road to rejoin Middle Road.

“Residents along the affected stretch [between Crow Valley and Store Hill] must also follow the westbound traffic flow to access their properties.

“Daily paving works will continue on Middle Road from Peak Lane to North Shore Road. These works will necessitate a temporary single-lane closure on the eastbound lane, enforced from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“Representatives from the Ministry of Public Works will oversee traffic management measures, including cones, barricades, and signage.

“Motorists are strongly encouraged to use Harrington Sound Road and North Shore Road as alternate routes to avoid congestion.

“The Ministry appreciates the public’s cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience arising from these necessary works. For more information, please refer to the attached Road Traffic Notice, which includes a diagram.”
