Video: Sunday Aug 24th “Good News” Spotlight
News that Bermudian stylist Shiona Turini won an Emmy for her work with Beyoncé, the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service celebrated 14 recruits who completed the Foundation Course, and Monique Bailey and Simone Fox received the Public Service Excellence Award were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Jasmine Spence scored a hat-trick for Newport Pagnell Town Women, Caitlyn Bobb won the silver medal in the 400m at the Junior Pan American Games, Bermuda Motors recognized Patrick Abuluyan and Corey Lewis for completing Toyota training in Trinidad, and the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda awarded scholarships and bursaries to eight young dancers.
Other good news stories included MJM awarding legal scholarships to Emily Orchard and Za’Khari Turner, AXA XL awarding its scholarship to Bermudian university student Oliver Cherry, and the St. George’s Parish Council awarding scholarships to Izeyah Wainwright, Chari Ingham-Trott, and Amari Place.
