Tuff Dogs Donate 215 Pairs Of Football Boots
Tuff Dogs Sports Club donated 215 pairs of brand-new football boots to boys’ and girls’ teams participating in the Bermuda Football Association’s children’s leagues.
A spokesperson said, “This year’s donation, made possible by the generosity of a former player and club member, doubles the number of boots donated just two years ago.
“The gift is part of Tuff Dogs’ ongoing commitment to supporting Bermuda’s young athletes. In addition to the boot donation, the Club hosted two charity golf tournaments in June:
“The One Love Memorial Golf Tournament, played in honor of beloved friend Brian Morris.
“The 25th Tatem Memorial Tournament, honoring former softball players Donald and Jummy Tatem, as well as Donald’s wife, Maria.
“Funds raised from these tournaments directly support young athletes and youth-focused charities across the island.
“Over the past two years, Tuff Dogs Sports Club has made numerous donations, including:
- Bermuda Junior Golf Association
- Bermuda Pacers Track Club
- Hamilton Parish Youth Program
- Young triathlete Sanchez Smith, enabling him to compete overseas
- Daion Swan Desilva, currently attending Woodstock Academy
- Saqui Robinson, attending the Mike Bender Golf Academy
- Ambers Wings
- Betta Daiz
- Anthony “Toe” Dill Memorial Tournament
- The Jason and Gary Scholarship Fund”
Speaking on the Club’s mission, a Tuff Dogs representative said: “These bright young athletes will one day be Bermuda’s top performers, and we want to support them in every way possible. Reaching one’s full potential takes discipline, dedication, and resources. We are proud to help as many young athletes as we can. Not only will they become top athletes, but we are confident they will grow into community leaders and role models for the next generation. Sports play an essential role in building character, teamwork, and discipline, and we are honored to be part of their journey.”
The Club also emphasized the importance of community-wide support for Bermuda’s youth: “There are many organizations working tirelessly to help young people. We encourage everyone who is able to support a local athlete, club, or charity. Together, we can all assist in shaping the future leaders of our island.”
A spokesperson added, “Tuff Dogs Sports Club remains committed to giving back through its fundraising initiatives and will continue to invest in the growth, development, and success of Bermuda’s young athletes.”
