Vieira, Rodrigues & Eckerd Place 4th
Bermudian sailors Jordan Vieira and Paul Rodrigues Jr. were instrumental in Eckerd College’s fourth-place finish at the SAISA South Top Six race in Florida. The regatta was the first of two events for the team this weekend.
The Eckerd A team, crewed by Rodrigues Jr. and Avery Guck, finished with 58 points, earning the second-best point total in their group. The pair secured five top-five finishes, including a second-place finish in the third race.
Vieira and his B team partner, Tia Soultanakakis, accumulated 93 points, placing them fourth in their group. They started strong with a fourth-place finish and concluded with an eighth-place finish, their second-best result of the day.
The Eckerd C team finished with 133 points. Their highest placement was a seventh-place finish in the regatta’s opening race.
