“Gabriella Arnold rode an exceptionally smart race, conserving energy early before asserting herself as the race developed on the John Smith–Burrell Boom circuit. In the final quarter, she joined Teniel Campbell of Trinidad & Tobago — a UCI WorldTour rider — in a decisive breakaway.

“Campbell attacked in the closing kilometres to secure victory, while Arnold powered across the line alone in second, 31 seconds behind, earning silver and her second medal of the weekend.”

“Gabriella rode a tactically perfect race,” said BBA President Peter Dunne. “She stayed composed, marked every move that mattered, and delivered a world-class performance.”

A spokesperson added, “Men’s Road Race, Distance: 156 km | Winning Time: 3:49:58 [avg. 41.8 km/h], Riders Started: 46 | Finished: 29

“In the men’s event, Conor White, Nic Narraway, and Kaden Hopkins delivered a disciplined team effort in hot, breezy conditions. After sitting back early, the trio began to dictate the race, reeling in breaks, marking rivals, and driving the pace.

“Hopkins joined a lead group of 12 riders that built a gap of more than three minutes on the chase, while Narraway and White controlled the pace behind to protect his position. From the lead group, Rudy Alexander Germoso Gomez[Dominican Republic] took the win, with Oscar Quiroz [Belize] second. Hopkins finished sixth, with Narraway 12th and White 17th after a strong team display.”

“It was great teamwork from start to finish,” said Dunne. “The riders supported one another, raced with purpose, and represented Bermuda with strength and pride.”

A spokesperson added, “This was the first time Belize has hosted a cycling event of this scale, and the organisation and hospitality were strongl.

“The Bermuda contingent, riders Gabriella Arnold, Conor White, Nic Narraway, and Kaden Hopkins, supported by Team Manager Peter Dunne and mechanic Dominique Mayho, praised the professionalism and enthusiasm of the hosts.”

“Four medals, including gold and double podiums for Gabriella, is a phenomenal result,” said Dunne. “And full credit to Belize, they delivered an amazing event.”
