Motorcycle racer Jediah Cumbermack has reflected on his impressive debut season in the AJN Steelstock Limited Kawasaki British Superteen Championship.

Cumbermack, who rides for British development team Rokit Rookies, finished twelfth in the series out of 22 riders – despite missing two of the ten rounds.

The 19-year-old ended his campaign on a high note, securing sixth place in the championship’s final race at Oulton Park Circuit in Cheshire this month.

It was his best finish of the season.

“This season has been a big achievement for me,” Cumbermack told Bernews.

“I’ve been finishing races, improving, and becoming more consistent every round.”

Cumbermack previously competed in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup with the Texas-based A.I.R Onze Moto Racing team, the Chuckwalla Motorcycle Racing Association series in California, and the North American Talent Cup.

“Racing in England for the first time on these tracks, after competing in the US, has been a new challenge,” he said.

“It shows I’m a quick learner, and I’ve a lot of motivation to move forward to the professional level.”

Based in Manchester during his UK races, Cumbermack hopes to return to the Rokit Rookies for next year’s racing.

“A top five would be a big stepping stone for me next season,” he said. “Next year, I want to find a way to stay in the UK longer – travelling back and forth from Bermuda is expensive.”

Cumbermack, who works for James Water Services, is focusing on consistency and fitness during the off-season.

“I want to keep riding every weekend at Southside, improving my race craft, and going to the gym to boost my fitness,” he said.

Cumbermack is sponsored by Bison Track, Aries Sports Centre, Edgewood Pediatrics, Finn Scholarships, the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association and Feasale.
