The Ministry of Public Works and Environment is advising that an “emergency single-lane closure has been implemented along Harrington Sound Road near Shark Hole in Hamilton Parish, due to a hole discovered in the asphalt surface.”

A Government spokesperson said, “Effective today, Thursday, 23 October 2025, the eastbound lane leading uphill from Shark Hole will be closed to allow urgent investigation and assessment of the road surface.

“The investigative works will occur daily between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and will remain in effect until further notice.

“Traffic management measures are in place and being overseen by Ministry representatives, including the use of traffic lights and warning signage. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution, particularly when driving through the area at night, and are advised to expect delays during working hours.

“To help minimise disruption, drivers are encouraged to use the detour route via North Shore Road.”
