The Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning [BCCL] celebrated its 10th anniversary on Friday, October 10th, with a celebration and a community picnic at Victoria Park – bringing together students, families, teachers and supporters to mark a decade of helping children who learn differently thrive.

A spokesperson said, “The afternoon was filled with laughter, connection and play – a fitting reflection of BCCL’s mission to create learning environments where every child feels seen, supported, and confident in their abilities.”

“Ten years ago, we opened BCCL with a simple but powerful belief: every child can learn – they just need to be taught in the way they learn best,” said Cindy Corday, Co-Founder and Head of School. “This celebration was about our students, past and present, and the families and teachers who have believed in them every step of the way.”

A spokesperson added, “Since opening its doors in 2015, BCCL has grown from a small, purpose-driven school into a nationally recognised leader in teaching children with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD.

“The BCCL difference lies in its personalised approach – small class sizes, evidence-based instruction, and a nurturing environment that builds on each student’s strengths. The school’s brand has become synonymous with empowerment, compassion and creativity – a place where children rediscover the joy of learning.

“In addition to its primary, middle and secondary school programmes, BCCL also offers dyslexia screening, educational consulting, and professional learning for parents and educators, helping to raise awareness and build understanding of how children with learning differences can be best supported both in and out of the classroom.”

“Our goal has always been to help students reconnect with their confidence,” added Ms Corday. “When children feel understood, everything else follows – their academics, their friendships, and their sense of self.”

A spokesperson added, “As part of its anniversary celebrations, BCCL also announced an upcoming “Meet, Greet and Play” Open House for families interested in its new Reception Year Programme — a play-based introduction to school designed for young learners who will benefit from smaller class sizes and an individualised approach.

“The Open House will take place on Saturday, November 8th, 9-10 am at BCCL School, Cedar, 41 Cedar Avenue, Hamilton. Families will have an opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and experience how the BCCL Reception Year supports children’s curiosity, confidence, and early learning foundations.
