Police Investigating Three Separate Burglaries

Police are investigating three burglaries at businesses that occurred during the passing of Hurricane Imelda, with burglaries reported at the Marketplace, Gem Cellar and Crisson’s.

Burglary at Gem Cellar on Reid Street in Hamilton

A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:34 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Police attended an alleged burglary at the “Gem Cellar”, on Reid Street, in the city of Hamilton. Reports are the store was broken into sometime between 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1 and 3:00 p.m. on Thursday October 2, 2025 when the store was closed during the passing of hurricane Imelda.

“The suspect who escaped with a quantity of jewellery of unknown value, was captured on CCTV. They are described as being 5′ 9″ in height, wearing a blue sweater and dark coloured pants along with a helmet and a pair of gloves.

Burglary at Crisson’s in Hamilton

“At 09:29 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Police attended a report of a burglary at Crisson’s, on Queen Street, in the City of Hamilton. The incident is believed to have occurred between 1:55 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. that same day, at the height of hurricane Imelda.

“The suspects escaped with a large quantity of jewellery and watches from the store’s display cases, as well as a quantity of cash. The total value of these items is unknown.

Burglary at Marketplace in Shelly Bay

“Police also attended a reported burglary at the Market Place, Supermarket, Shelly Bay. The incident which happened during the passing of hurricane Imelda, was reported around 8:30 a.m. on the same date as the other two burglaries.

“Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who indicated the suspects broke into an office and removed a quantity of cash and other valuables. The two suspects were captured on the store’s CCTV. They were wearing black helmets, dark coloured jackets and gloves.
