Thomas Cechini Records Two 6th Place Finishes

Bermudian swimmer Thomas Cechini delivered a strong individual performance for the Loyola University Maryland Swimming and Diving team against the U.S. Naval Academy at Navy’s Lejeune Hall.

Cechini contributed valuable points in the freestyle events, though the Loyola University Maryland men’s squad ultimately lost the overall team score to Navy, 164-125.

In individual competition, Cechini recorded two sixth-place finishes. He touched the wall in the Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 42.98 seconds. He repeated the sixth-place result in the Men’s 500 Yard Freestyle, clocking 4:42.55.

The Bermudian swimmer also swam the anchor leg for the Loyola University-MD Men’s 400 Yard Freestyle Relay C team, which secured a third-place finish with a time of 3:11.07.
