A spokesperson said, “This global event, including a lead-up three-day International Pickleball Tournament, featured more than 3,500 players and drew over 12,000 spectators. With representation from 69 countries, it is the largest World Cup in pickleball history, and Bermuda’s success is boosting the island’s visibility on the global stage.
“This year’s Senior competition included 52 countries, split into 13 groups of four, with the top two teams in each group progressing to the knockout rounds. Bermuda’s Senior Team secured an average point differential of 11.3 and earned the #12 seed out of 26 teams that qualified for the playoffs.

PAB Perspective and Team Leadership
Senior Team Captain and PAB President George Thomas commented: “Leading our Senior Team in this World Cup is a true honor, and what makes me proudest is that all eight of our players took to the court and contributed to our success. Their individual efforts, teamwork, and support for one another demonstrate the core value of inclusivity that defines Bermuda pickleball.”
National Coach Sasha Fisher, who guided the squad from the sidelines, emphasized teamwork and determination: “I am proud of every player. This event required discipline and smart, consistent game play. What was most rewarding was to see us hold ourselves with a high level of composure as we showcased our skills in a small but mighty Bermuda way. “
Reflecting on the World Cup’s scale and impact, Mr. Thomas added: “With a population of just 63,000, Bermuda stands toe-to-toe with countries hundreds and thousands of times larger. Our results in a truly global field proves our programs not only foster excellence at home but bring well-earned recognition abroad. Once again, Bermuda is punching well above its weight.”
