June Consumer Price Index: Inflation 1.7%
Consumers paid 1.7 per cent more in June than they did a year ago for the basket of goods and services included in the Consumer Price Index [CPI].
A Government spokesperson said, “Today, the Ministry of Economy and Labour released the Department of Statistics’ June 2025 Consumer Price Index.
“In summary, consumers paid 1.7 per cent more in June 2025 than they did a year ago for the basket of goods and services included in the Consumer Price Index [CPI]. This level of inflation decreased 0.1 percentage points from the May 2025 annual inflation rate. Some highlights for June 2024 to June 2025 include:
- The Rent division increased 2.4 per cent.
- The Health & Personal Care division rose 3.8 per cent.
- The Fuel & Power division increased 5.7 per cent.
- The Food division increased 1.4 per cent
- The Education, Recreation, Entertainment & Reading division advanced 0.7 per cent.
“Between May 2025 and June 2025, the average cost of goods and services was unchanged. Additional areas of note between May 2025 and June 2025 were as follows:
- The Food division increased 1.1 per cent.
- The Health & Personal Care division increased 0.1 per cent.
- The Rent division rose 0.1 per cent.
- The Fuel & Power division was unchanged.”

1.7% is still more than most countries can afford.
1.7% +/-for every month of the year is progressive , compounding and accumulative just takes longer to make the almighty buck that’s all.
In a year from now we are looking at 20.4%. and more remember i said accumulative .
That is just another” money grab business trick “. We will never see price go down as there will always be an excuse .
Where that all hurts the mostly is our working class. Another Peter/ Paul excuse, is reduce the price of carrots by 2% and put up the price to 4 % on cabbage. Business do not seem to realize that thy are hurting them selves and their staff . The used / preowned market is going strong.

LARGE PRINT. I am using larger print in all that i do these days for the benefit of our seniors have you noticed that a simple bottle of aspirins has print that even those with good visibility have some difficulty in reading .
The U.K. reports retail price inflation in June 2025 at 3.6%. The U.S. reports retail price inflation in June 2025 at 2.7%. Canada reports retail price inflation in June 2025 at 1.9%.
