Bermuda Men’s Team Qualify For CAC Games
The Bermuda men’s national rugby union team have qualified for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, next year.
They reached the semi-finals of the Rugby Americas North Sevens in Trinidad and Tobago after beating Jamaica 12-7 in the tier one play-off.
Bermuda were defeated by Barbados 26-7 in the semis. Jamie Baum scored a well-deserved try for Bermuda.
In the match for third and fourth place, Bermuda faced Trinidad. Bermuda took a 5-0 lead after Baum crossed the line for a try.
Trinidad responded with 17 points to take a 17-5 lead into the half.
They added 12 more points to claim bronze with a 29-5 victory over Bermuda.
The Bermuda women’s national team were defeated 45-0 by Mexico on the final day of their competition.
In the match for third and fourth place, Bermuda faced the hosts, Trinidad, losing 27-0.
