Maldonado Brothers Impress In Florida
Bermuda’s Maldonado brothers, Manuel and Raul, delivered impressive tennis performances at the USTA Level 6: Crandon Park Cup in Florida.
Manuel claimed the Boys’ 12 and Under Singles title after an undefeated run.
In the final, he defeated No 1 seed, Pierre Le Bona, 6-1, 6-0. He secured his spot in the final by defeating Bruce Butler 6-1, 6-1.
Older brother Raul Maldonado, competing in the Boys’ 14 and Under Singles, was defeated by Brazil’s Pedro Lima 6-2, 2-6, 10-2.
Raul then dominated the consolation bracket, winning the Boys’ 14 and Under Singles Consolation final, defeating Simon Porru 8-1.
He had advanced to the final with an 8-5 win over Mario Carlos Bacchin in the semi-final.
