Sunday Nov 9th: “Good News” Spotlight
News that Bermuda’s National Robotics Team impressed at the Global Robotics Competition, the Gala of Giving raised $400,000 for charities, and the Green Family donated $100,000 to the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre were all among the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda raised over $21,000 through their ‘Tag Day with a Twist,’ Butterfield reopened the doors to its Somerset Banking Centre at 45 Mangrove Bay Road, Gibbons Company officially opened ‘Palm Lane,’ a new home store on Reid Street in Hamilton, and Kenni Thompson scored twice in AFC Bournemouth Women’s 5-0 win away to AFC Wimbledon Women.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the HSBC helping to clean up Cooper’s Island and the Palm Lane store opening.
In an effort to highlight some of positive news happening in our community, we supplement our standard morning and evening email newsletters with a special Sunday “Good News” email newsletter edition, and also produce a highlight video and article which strictly focuses on the positive news about Bermuda and Bermudians from the past week.
