Hamilton Retailers Extend Hours For Holidays
Hamilton retailers are extending their December hours for Late-Night Thursdays, Fridays, and Sunday Shopping, offering special promotions to boost the festive shopping experience and support local businesses.
A spokesperson said, “In an effort to revive the energy, community spirit, and festive magic of Hamilton’s city centre, Bermudian retailers are coming together this holiday season to offer extended shopping hours and special in-store experiences. After a slower retail year across the island, local businesses are collaborating to create something Bermuda hasn’t seen in a long time: a vibrant, memorable Christmas shopping atmosphere designed for families, friends, and visitors alike.
“Throughout December, many Hamilton retailers will open for Late-Night Thursdays, Fridays and Sunday Shopping, making it easier for customers to explore the city, support local businesses, and enjoy incentives designed to keep shoppers in stores longer. From exclusive promotions to festive treats, retailers are working hard to give customers an experience that online shopping simply cannot provide.”
“This is something Amazon can’t deliver,” said local retail organisers. “When you shop locally, you’re not just buying a product—you’re supporting jobs, families, and the future of Bermuda’s small-business community.”
The spokesperson said, “Local retailers also highlight the practical benefits of choosing Bermuda first:
- Many Bermuda shops now meet or closely match US retail prices.
- Customers can touch, feel, and try on products before buying—no guesswork.
- Returns and exchanges are easy and immediate.
- Shopping locally keeps money circulating within Bermuda’s economy, strengthening the community as a whole.”
“Every purchase made locally has a ripple effect,” organisers noted. “It supports Bermudian employment, contributes to the vibrancy of our city centre, and helps ensure that Hamilton remains a lively, thriving place for residents and visitors.”
The spokesperson said, “Retailers hope that the combination of extended hours and community participation will bring families back to the city. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their children, enjoy the festive decorations, and rediscover the joy of strolling through Hamilton during the holidays.”
“This season, we invite Bermuda to experience the city again—come together, shop together, and celebrate what makes our island special.”
“Late-Night Thursdays, Fridays, and Sunday Shopping begin this week across participating Hamilton retailers.”

What time is later night?
STORE KEEPERS PRICE REVENGE. Recently my wife a merchandise coordinator of a major store and i went into town .
She rarely comes in this particular store, this time she did, after come out of the store she told me all she could see was junk.
I told her that was she saw was most likely left over from last year with many items having higher prices.
Bermuda used to be a place where one could buy top quality merchandise.
How amazing it is to see how things have changed, they call that mark up’s .
unfortunately things do not seem to last very long.
From an economic point of view, far too much money is leaving this island for poor quality discounted items.
“All that glitters is not gold”.
“Bermuda used to be a place where one could buy top quality merchandise.”
Yes, it did. Because we had top quality visitors. But we drove those people and their money away, so now we have to find a new way to live.
The stores not listed better not complain about sales being down!
