BPS Address Hamilton Parish Home Invasion
“Following the wide circulation of footage on social media and other platforms relating to a recent home invasion in Hamilton Parish, we recognise that some residents have expressed concerns about both community safety and elements of the police response,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Antoine Daniels said.
He added, “It is important to provide context regarding the excerpts of video/audio being circulated, which include a police control room officer speaking with the individual reporting the incident. Speaking with victims and callers in real time is a critical part of the police response. These conversations are designed to gather as much accurate information as possible, such as descriptions, location details, and immediate risks to ensure responding patrol officers receive the most appropriate and timely information.
“In this incident, patrol officers were deployed while the control room officer remained engaged on the call. The ongoing communication did not delay police action; rather, it supported it by enabling officers on patrol to respond with clearer situational awareness.
“We understand how incidents particularly when shared widely online can heighten fear and concern. At this time, there is no indication that this was a random act.”
Assistant Commissioner of Police Antoine Daniels stated that “while the Bermuda Police Service is taking this incident seriously, a single incident does not indicate a broader increase in criminal activity or an ongoing threat to the community.
“The Bermuda Police Service remain committed to transparency, effective response, and keeping the community informed. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through reliable sources and to continue working with police to help keep our community safe.
“The Bermuda Police Service is encouraging persons with any information regarding this incident to contact Detective Sergeant Foote, a police officer you know, or the Confidential Crime Stoppers Hot-Line at 800-TIPS [8477].”

Police are weak, thats it we are in the hands of criminals and weak police!i dont know what the future holds for this place!
citizens are criminalized if they arm themselves to protect themselves, or even to go fishing or do various labor type handywork. While the criminals run around with guns, uzis, you name it, on stolen bikes. we arent even allowed to defend ourselves. we are being forced to be victims to these barbarians.
How long does this lunacy get to continue before Bermuda changes? Why should citizens tolerate this nonsense? Prompt change and action is not just desired, its required. Not in some lazy few years time, like right now.
I would suggest middle east punishments for thieves, having fingers or whole hands lopped off. Then they cant steal or attack us.
Sorry , we’d rather pick on and victimize innocent people who have been invited to come here and work from places overseas than punish our own . We don’t have the desire to punish our own for evil doings and crime . Remember December ’77
I remember very well.
Bermuda is also famous for removing basic rights, from some Bermudians.
This island is becoming LAWLESS in every aspect….people don’t care about laws or rules or right and wrong. The home invasions, the break ins, the prowlers, the intimidation on the roads, how are law abiding citizens supposed to protect ourselves? Call the police? They can only do so much. The GOVERNMENT hold the power to DO SOMETHING…more police, more visible presence, more tasers and more actual guns on patrol, harsher punishments, you all keep voting them in, and this is the result. They sit back and watch and collect the pay checks and do nothing to address the issues…because they will lose votes from the very people committing the crimes…this island has been spiraling down the toilet for years…welcome to paradise
“people don’t care about laws or rules or right and wrong”
I think that “laws or rules” should now be referred to as “suggestions”.
As for “right and wrong”, people follow the example set by our politicians.
