Dandy Town Hornets Beat North Village 1-0
Dandy Town Hornets defeated North Village Rams 1-0 to retain the Friendship Trophy, thanks to an early goal from David Jones Jr.
Jones Jr. scored in the seventh minute, giving the Hornets an early lead they maintained throughout a tightly contested match. The goal allowed Dandy Town to control the tempo, while North Village struggled to create clear scoring opportunities.
The Hornets’ defence, led by Dante Leverock, limited North Village’s attacks, with goalkeeper Jahquil Hill making key saves to preserve the clean sheet. North Village, captained by Jalen Harvey and London Steede, made several substitutions in the second half, including Adio Deshields and Jai Bean, but were unable to overcome Dandy Town’s defensive organisation.
Dandy Town coach Jarreau Hayward also made late changes, bringing on Angelo Simmons, Jahkari Furbert, Kennahz Fray, Demetre Daniels, and Enrique Swan to maintain the lead. The Hornets successfully held off North Village’s attempts in the final minutes to secure their first Friendship Trophy victory over the Rams in the competition’s history.
