Weekend Football: Blazers, Colts & Rams Win

Boulevard Blazers, St. George’s Colts, and North Village Rams claimed victories in the Premier Division, while Somerset Trojans, Somerset Eagles, Southampton Rangers, and Wolves shared points in the First Division.

Premier Division

Young Men’s Social Club 4  Boulevard Blazers 5

Boulevard Blazers, in tenth place, defeated ninth-placed Young Men’s Social Club 5-4 in a match that featured multiple lead changes.

Social Club opened the scoring in the 31st minute following an own goal. Khya Blyden scored twice within five minutes to give the Blazers the lead before Angelo Matthews equalised just before halftime, sending the teams into the break tied 2-2.

Zeiko Lewis put Social Club back in front early in the second half, but Doreiko Walker responded almost immediately for the Blazers. Lewis scored again to restore Social Club’s advantage at 4-3. Boulevard Blazers closed the match with goals from Nico Smith and Keedai Astwood, with Astwood scoring the winning goal in the 83rd minute.

Paget Lions 0 St. George’s Colts 3

St. George’s Colts recorded a 3-0 away win over Paget Lions at White Hill Field and moved ahead of the Lions in the standings.

Jahron Dickinson gave the Colts the lead in the 11th minute and added a second shortly after halftime. Jarizinho Bassett scored the third goal in the 69th minute. The result moved St. George’s Colts into seventh place, with Paget Lions dropping to eighth.

X-Road’s 2 North Village Rams 5

Defending champions North Village Rams defeated X-Road’s 5-2 at Lord’s in St. David’s.

Knory Scott converted two first-half penalties and Camajé Easton-Smith scored once to give the Rams a 3-1 halftime lead, with Paul Simons scoring for X-Road’s. Che’kai Caisey added a fourth goal for North Village. Krishun Douglas scored for X-Road’s with a free kick before Jalen Harvey headed in a late goal to complete the scoring.

First Division

Somerset Trojans 0 Somerset Eagles 0

Somerset Trojans and Somerset Eagles drew 0-0 at Somerset Cricket Club in a First Division match.

The Trojans’ goalkeeper made five saves late in the match to preserve the draw.

Southampton Rangers 3 Wolves 3

Southampton Rangers and Wolves played to a 3-3 draw at Southampton Oval.

Jarred Douglas scored twice for Wolves, with goals before and after halftime. Southampton Rangers responded with two goals from Donte Brangman and one from Ellington Weldon to take a 3-2 lead. Khari Sharrieff scored an 87th-minute equaliser for Wolves.
