Karting Championship Race Day #8 Results
The Bermuda Karting Association [BKA] celebrated its 50th anniversary during Race Day 8 of the Bermuda Rubis Energy Karting Championship.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Karting Association [BKA] launched its 50th anniversary year in style, with 39 karts taking to the Southside Raceway for the opening race day of the milestone year with race #8 of the Bermuda Rubis Energy Karting Championship.
“The L206 Senior class featured a competitive field of 14 karts, with strong consistency across all three heats. #420 Skitchy Barnes secured victories in Heats 1 & 3 and finished second in Heat 2. #91 Jason “Skuzzie” North claimed the win in Heat 2 and placed second in Heats 1 & 3. CRG teammates rounded out the podium finishes, with #6 David Barbosa finishing third in Heats 1 & 2, and #213 Marc Tucker taking third in Heat 3.
“In the TAG Senior division, Heat 1 was won by #518 Ryan Burgess, while #159 Skitchy Barnes dominated Heats 2 & 3. Second-place finishes went to #24 Blake Horseman in Heats 1 & 2, with #518 Ryan Burgess finishing second in Heat 3. #34 Jorja Thomas delivered a consistent performance, securing third place in all three heats.
“The TAG Junior class was dominated by #92 Tanner Correia, who swept all three heats with first-place finishes. #81 Jonathan Lindberg placed second in Heat 1, while #12 Alondro Albouy took second in Heats 2 & 3. Third place was claimed by #30 Syah Pedro in Heats 1 & 2, with Lindberg finishing third in Heat 3.
“The Shifter Class saw no changes in the top four positions during Heats 1 & 2, with #18 Ryan Burgess leading, followed by #3 Ryan Rebello, #9 Skitchy Barnes, and #24 Blake Horseman. Rain added an extra challenge in the final heat of the day, but did little to slow the racing. #24 Blake Horseman took the win in Heat 3, followed by #33 Jason Correia in second and #51 Stephen Corrado in third.
“In the KZ Master Class, Heat 1 was won by #14 Rian Lindo, with #53 Jason DeCouto finishing second and #2 William Dunkley third. #53 Jason DeCouto claimed victory in Heat 2, followed by #2 William Dunkley and #14 Rian Lindo. Rain conditions again featured in Heat 3, where #2 William Dunkley took first place and #53 Jason DeCouto finished second.
“The opening race day set an exciting tone for the Bermuda Karting Association’s 50th anniversary year, with close competition and strong performances across all classes.”
