Karting Championship Race Day #9 Results
The Bermuda Karting Association [BKA] held Race Day 9 of the Bermuda Rubis Energy Karting Championship today [Jan 18], featuring 40 karts competing across multiple classes for top honours.
A spokesperson said, “The L206 Senior class featured a strong field of 14 competitors, with #91 Jason “Skuzzie” North taking first place, followed by #95 Robert Wheatley and #84 Owen DeCosta. A close battle unfolded in Heat Three for positions six through ten, involving #75 Jessie Moniz, #57 Lucas Bridges, #420 Justin Lindo, #47 Chris Smith and #129 Matthew Smith, who finished in that order. The class also welcomed two first-time competitors, #20 Jonathan Smith and #171 Sir DeVent, both of whom completed three successful debut heats.
“In the TAG Senior division, #518 Ryan Burgess, #24 Blake Horseman, #34 Jorja Thomas and #159 Jonah Moniz secured the top four positions in Heats One and Two. Heat Three saw a change at the front, with #24 Horseman claiming victory, while #518 Burgess finished second.
“The TAG Junior class also delivered consistent performances, with #92 Tanner Correia leading the field, followed by #30 Syah Pedro, #12 Alondro Albouy and #81 Jonathan Linberg.
“High-speed action highlighted the KZ Shifter class, which featured 14 karts competing in the fastest category of the day. An incident early in the opening heat resulted in one driver being forced to withdraw for the remainder of the event. Heat One also included an international competitor, #52 A.J. Myers of Mooresville, North Carolina, who claimed victory ahead of #24 Blake Horseman and #18 Ryan Burgess. The remaining two heats saw #3 Ryan Rebello, #51 Stephen Corrado and #24 Blake Horseman secure the top three positions.
“In the KZ Masters class, #53 Jason DeCouto produced consistent performances across all heats to claim victory, with #2 William Dunkley finishing second. The Cadet class saw #92 Tanner Correia dominate, winning all three heats, while #112 Jacob Garrett secured second place.”
