Munya & Turner Impress At VA Indoor Showcase
Bermudian sprinters Amaris Munya and Arima Turner represented Montverde Academy at the VA Indoor Showcase held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. The pair competed for the Academy’s ‘A’ team in the Girls’ Invitational Sprint Medley Relay, finishing fifth overall with a time of 4:20.22. Turner performed the opening leg of the relay, while Munya made her debut at the meet by anchoring the 800-meter leg.
In individual competition, Turner won her preliminary heat in the 55-meter dash, recording a time of 7.19 seconds. The performance placed her second overall in a field of more than 200 competitors. Turner also participated in the 200-meter dash, where she finished 15th out of 56 runners with a time of 25.17 seconds.
