Bermuda Gaelic Athletic Association To Host Event
The Bermuda Gaelic Athletic Association [GAA] announced an upcoming Gaelic Games tournament taking place on Saturday, March 21st in St. George’s, with throw-in at 12:30pm sharp.
A spokesperson said, “The Gaelic Athletic Association [GAA] is Ireland’s largest sporting and cultural organization, promoting traditional Irish sports including Gaelic football and hurling. Built on community spirit, inclusivity, and volunteerism, the GAA connects people of all backgrounds through sport and culture around the world.
“Bermuda GAA is a growing and vibrant club committed to building a welcoming and inclusive Gaelic Games community on the island. Since its establishment, the club has attracted players of all abilities and nationalities, and is actively seeking new members to join as it continues to grow.
Tournament Details
“The March 21st event will feature a 7-a-side blitz football tournament, designed to be fast-paced, social, and fun.
- Location: St. George’s Cricket Pitch
- Throw-in: 12:30pm sharp
- Format: 7-a-side blitz tournament with teams selected by Bermuda GAA to ensure a balanced and fair competition
- Eligibility: Open to players aged 18+
- Teams: Mixed gender
- Experience Level: All levels welcome – from beginners to seasoned players
- Cost: Free to sign up

“The blitz format ensures plenty of action and participation throughout the afternoon. Whether you have played Gaelic Games for years or are completely new to the sport, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved. Friends, family, and supporters are warmly encouraged to come along and enjoy the atmosphere from the sidelines.”
Speaking about the upcoming tournament, Bermuda GAA Chairperson, Louise Edwards, said; “Organized Gaelic football has previously existed on the island through an earlier Bermuda GAA club, but we are now actively reestablishing Bermuda GAA again. The club is proud to be building on that legacy and helping to renew Gaelic Games in Bermuda for a new generation of players. Bermuda GAA is a growing and vibrant club committed to building a welcoming and inclusive Gaelic Games community on the island. Since its establishment, the club has already attracted players of all abilities and nationalities and is actively seeking new members to join as it continues to grow.”
The spokesperson added , “Following the tournament on Saturday, March 21st, celebrations will continue at Moongate Brewing Co. from 3pm until late with a lively St. Patrick’s Day themed party. Attendees can expect music, hot food, and plenty of fun to round out the day.
