Bermudian swimmers Connor Hupman, Noah Maranzana, Gabriel Maranzana, Katherine Wheddon, Violet Smith and Maggie Mewett helped power Baylor School to both the girls and boys team titles at the 2026 TISCA State Championships.

Competing in Tennessee, the group contributed across individual and relay events as Baylor secured a sweep of the state championships in a meet that featured multiple record-setting performances.

Hupman delivered two individual ‘A’ final appearances for the boys team, finishing eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.37 and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle in 46.18.

He was also part of two record-breaking relay victories. Hupman helped Baylor capture state titles and set new state records in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:20.56 and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 2:58.56.

Noah Maranzana recorded personal-best times of 21.95 in the 50-yard freestyle to finish 19th and 48.00 in the 100-yard freestyle to place 22nd. He also competed in the preliminaries of the state-title-winning 4×50-yard freestyle relay.

Gabriel Maranzana placed 32nd in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.91 and swam a personal-best 26.46 on the backstroke leg while leading off the 12th-place 200-yard medley relay team.

On the girls side, Wheddon led the Bermudian individual results, finishing 14th in the 200-yard freestyle ‘B’ final in 1:56.58 and 31st in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.38.

Smith reached the ‘B’ final in the 100-yard backstroke, placing 15th in 58.66, while Mewett finished 19th in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.11 and 32nd in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:11.98.

Smith also led off the 200-yard medley ‘B’ relay, which placed ninth, and Mewett and Wheddon competed in freestyle relays as the team accumulated enough points to secure both overall state championships.
