Watson-Brown Competes In Atlantic 10 Finals

Bermudian swimmer Logan Watson-Brown and the George Washington University [GWU] women’s swimming team placed second at the Atlantic 10 championships held at the Hampton Aquaplex.

GWU scored 572.5 points, finishing 27.5 points behind the University of Richmond, who won their 17th conference title. The event results ended GWU’s four-year winning streak at the conference championships.

Watson-Brown, a graduate student, competed in both individual and relay events. In the women’s 200-yard medley relay, she swam the lead-off leg, and the team finished sixth with a time of 1:40.61. She swam the third leg in the women’s 800-yard freestyle relay, with the team placing fourth in 7:21.35.

In the individual events, Watson-Brown placed 18th in the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries with a time of 56.92. She recorded a time of 2:05.70 in the 200-yard backstroke to finish 21st. During the 200-yard freestyle morning session, she finished 23rd with a time of 1:53.32.
