Allshores Delays Phoenix Deal Until June 1st
Following discussions with the Bermuda Health Council and the Government of Bermuda, Allshores have agreed to delay their previously announced agreement with the Phoenix pharmacy until June 1, 2026.
An email sent out by the company said, “We are writing with an important update about our pharmacy partnership with The Phoenix Stores, which applies only to Allshores-insured members.
“Following discussions with the Bermuda Health Council and the Government of Bermuda, we have agreed to a delay, and our intention is to implement coverage changes for certain high-cost medications listed at allshores.com/phoenix on June 1, 2026.
“Regardless of this delay, Allshores members can currently benefit from the negotiated pricing already in place at Phoenix pharmacies.
“We recognise that there has been some confusion around the terms of this partnership, and we want to provide you with clear information about how this partnership will work once it’s been implemented.
How Coverage Will Work
“For certain specialty and high-cost medications [which are listed at allshores.com/phoenix]:
“As an Allshores-insured member, you will be encouraged to fill these specific prescriptions at Phoenix pharmacies, which are now considered in-network.
- “When filled at Phoenix, you will have lower — and in many cases zero — copays because of new negotiated pricing now in effect [which Allshores-insured members can take advantage of today].
- “You will still be able choose to fill these medications at other pharmacies in Bermuda, but because these are not considered in-network, out-of-network co-pay will be will 50% or per your Schedule of Benefits.
- “We have worked hard to secure an option which will significantly reduce our members’ out of pocket expenses and would hope that you take advantage of this.
For all other medications:
“Nothing changes. You will still be able to continue filling prescriptions at any pharmacy with the same coverage you have today, per your Schedule of Benefits. You should refer to your Schedule of Benefits to familiarise yourself with your coverage details.
Additional Information
- “The medications on this list are specialty and high-cost drugs, and prices for them can vary widely between pharmacies.
- “By partnering with Phoenix, Allshores has secured lower prices on certain medications — helping members pay less and keep insurance premiums more affordable over time.
- “Members who are already taking one of these medications will not have their treatment interrupted during the transition period. If there are special medical circumstances, exceptions can still be considered.
- “Phoenix was selected through a formal request for proposal [RFP] process, where multiple pharmacies were invited to participate.
- “Phoenix operates eight pharmacy locations across Bermuda and also offers free island-wide home delivery for prescriptions.
Next Steps
“We will continue to monitor access and service levels, listen to member feedback, and address any issues that arise.
“If you experience any challenges at your doctor’s office or pharmacy, please contact Allshores right away so we can assist.
“Should you have questions, please email us at pharmacy@allshores.com. Sincerely, Your Allshores health team.”
