Daniel Phillips Competes In 4-1 Tulane Loss
Bermudian tennis player Daniel Phillips competed against former teammates as Tulane University fell 4–1 to Arizona State University in collegiate men’s tennis action.
Phillips accounted for Tulane’s lone point of the match during doubles play. Teaming with Lance Nisbet, the Bermudian helped secure a 6–4 victory over the Arizona State pair of Bor Artnak and Shu Matsuoka.
In singles, Phillips played at the No. 1 position and faced Artnak. The Arizona State player entered the contest ranked 473rd in the world, with a career-high ranking of 373. Artnak defeated Phillips in straight sets, 6–4, 6–4.
Arizona State won the remaining singles matches to seal the 4–1 result.
