“Guided by a strong, community-driven mandate, this initiative is designed to create meaningful cultural experiences that reconnect generations, celebrate the spirit of togetherness, and strengthen the traditions that have long defined Bermuda’s Good Friday experience.

“In collaboration with the Emperial Group, The Chewstick Foundation, and production partner STE (Spanish Town Entertainment), the 2026 festival marks the return of a beloved national gathering; reintroduced with renewed purpose, structure, and community participation.

“For generations, Good Friday has filled Bermuda’s skies with color, creativity, and shared memory. The Bermuda Good Friday Kite Festival builds on that legacy by creating a national platform that celebrates craftsmanship, culture, creativity, and continuity across generations. “The Bermuda Good Friday Kite Festival is designed to be participatory, bringing together schools, businesses, families, and the wider community.

To Schools
“We invite students and educators across Bermuda to take part in the Schools Division and experience the connection between creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage in a meaningful, hands-on way.

To Businesses
“We encourage Bermuda’s business community to participate in the Corporate Division by designing kites that represent your brand, your values, and your connection to the Bermuda community.

To the People of Bermuda
“Bring your families, your traditions, and your stories. Bring your kites, your fish cakes, your jacks, your dominoes, and your marbles. Most importantly, bring your community spirit and be part of a day that celebrates who we are as a people.

“As this national celebration returns, we extend our full support and recognition to the many communities across Bermuda who continue to honour this cherished tradition in their own way and in their own spaces. From St. George’s and St. David’s to Naval Field, Somerset, and beyond, Good Friday has always belonged to the people of Bermuda.

“This festival stands hand in hand with those traditions, not in place of them, each one reflecting the other; connected in spirit, shared in purpose, and united across the island. Every gathering, every kite in the sky, and every family tradition forms part of a larger national story that this initiative seeks to honour, celebrate, and carry forward for future generations.

“The Bermuda Good Friday Kite Festival 2026 is more than the return of an event; it is the continuation of a national tradition and a celebration of the spirit of togetherness that defines Bermuda. Through strong partnerships and shared commitment, this initiative ensures that the legacy of Good Friday traditions continues to thrive for generations to come.

“When Bermuda’s skies fill with kites this Good Friday, it will be more than a beautiful sight; it will be a powerful reminder of the strength of our culture, the importance of our traditions, and the value of coming together as a community.
