Kayla Bardgett & SCAD Claim 16th Regional Win
Kayla Bardgett helped the Savannah College of Art and Design [SCAD] equestrian team win their 16th consecutive Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association [IHSA] Regional Championship.
Competing in the largest U.S. region, which includes 13 schools and a growing field of competitors, SCAD finished the season with 433 points, 110 points ahead of the second-place team. The margin is the largest in the school’s history.
Bardgett, a senior, earned Reserve Regional Champion honors after consistent performances throughout the regional shows.
In the Open division, Bardgett finished ninth in the region, placing in the top ten High Point Riders. The top-ranked rider in the division advances directly to the Zone Championship for a chance to compete in the Cacchione Cup at the IHSA National Finals.
SCAD will now compete in the Zone Championships, aiming to extend their success toward the National Finals.
