Kempe Competes At Mallorca Sailing Regatta

Strong winds across Palma Bay forced the cancellation of the final day of the Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta, leaving overnight standings to determine the final results.

The decision meant results from the opening day stood as the final classification. Bermuda’s Sebastian Kempe finished 21st overall in the 68-boat ILCA7 fleet, marking the start of his European season.

Only four races were completed before conditions halted further competition. Kempe recorded two top-ten finishes in the four races, placing 8th in the opening race and 6th in the fourth race. He finished the regatta with 55 net points.

Fiachra McDonnell, a former sailor with the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, finished 2nd overall with 22 net points.

Kempe is next scheduled to compete in the Trofeo Princesa Sofia.
