Sean Trott Aiming To Retain Lindo’s Title
Sean Trott will target a fourth successive title and fifth overall when he lines up in the Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10K Run on Sunday [March 8].
The defending champion is among the leading contenders in the annual race, which starts at Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick and finishes at Lindo’s Market in Devonshire.
Trott previously won the event in 2019, 2023, 2024 and last year, and said he believes he is in strong condition to challenge for another victory.
“Last year was my strongest win [34min 16sec] – I was able to win by more than three minutes,” Trott told Bernews.
“I had tight competition in 2023 from Tom Mills and Moses Mufandaedza pushed me hard in 2024. Both were good battles and I was pleased with how I used the hills near the end to secure the win.”
Trott said he is confident in his preparation but expects a competitive field.
“I’m in good condition to defend the title, but you never know who will come out on the day,” he said. “Hopefully I can put up a good fight if someone challenges.”
The defending Bermuda Half-Marathon Derby champion added that his training levels are similar to last year as he continues to build towards future marathon races.
“The miles and intensity of my training match last year, so overall I’m looking good for the year ahead,” he said. “I’m looking to run another marathon and gain more experience, especially as I’m getting older.”
The Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10K Run raises funds for the Bermuda Diabetes Association.
“It’s a great cause as diabetes affects the island a fair bit,” Trott said. “It’s in my family, so it’s something close to my heart.”
