Tanner Correia Wins Race In North Carolina
Eleven-year-old Bermudian kart racer Tanner Correia won the IAME Mini Swift final during Round 7 of the Trackhouse Motorplex Karting Challenge in Mooresville, North Carolina.
Correia topped the morning practice session with a fastest lap of 53.102 seconds before placing seventh among the 24 drivers who recorded times in qualifying.
Starting the nine-lap pre-final from seventh, Correia moved through the field to take the victory, finishing 0.161 seconds ahead of Jose Torres and securing pole position for the final.
Correia completed the 14-lap final in 13min 6.549sec, crossing the line 0.345 seconds ahead of runner-up Slate Harrell. Dominic Nagle finished third, 0.570 seconds behind Correia.
