Rodrigues Jr & Vieira Claim Second Place
Bermudian sailors Paul Rodrigues Jr. and Jordan Vieira competed for Eckerd College as the Tritons finished second at the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Top Six Fleet Race in Charleston.
Following the fleet racing stages, competition moved to team racing in FJs with outgoing tides and winds between 5 and 7 knots. Vieira sailed with Tia Soultanakis, Rodrigues Jr. paired with Avery Guck, and Peter Miller teamed with Peyton Elizabeth Seidle.
Eckerd defeated Miami, North Carolina State, Jacksonville and Florida State during the round-robin stage, with their only loss coming against host College of Charleston to finish 5–1 and second overall entering the top-four round.
In the championship round, Eckerd recorded wins over Jacksonville and Miami before another loss to the College of Charleston, finishing with a 6–2 record to secure second place.
