Corrections Officers Recruitment Drive Underway
A recruitment drive is now underway to attract Bermudians who are interested in pursuing a career as Corrections Officers.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Corrections is advising that, effective 20 March, a recruitment drive is now underway to attract Bermudians who are interested in pursuing a career as Corrections Officers.
“Applications will close on 17 April 2026, and interested persons are encouraged to submit their application through the Government Careers web portal by the deadline.
“As part of the recruitment campaign, members of the public are also invited to attend an information session on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bermuda College North Hall G301 theatre.
“The session will provide an opportunity to learn more about the role of a Corrections Officer, the responsibilities of the profession, the training involved, and the career pathways available within the Department of Corrections.
“The DOC plays an important role in promoting public safety, supporting rehabilitation, and helping to build safer communities.
“A career in corrections offers Bermudians the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the community while developing valuable professional skills in a structured and disciplined environment.
“Successful applicants will be required to complete a compulsory training course before being deployed. The training is designed to equip recruits with the knowledge, practical skills and professional standards needed to carry out the role effectively and confidently.”
Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Kim Wilkerson said, “A career in corrections is both challenging and rewarding.
“It offers an opportunity to serve the community in a direct and meaningful way, while also providing room for personal development, professional growth and long-term career advancement.
“The Department of Corrections is seeking committed Bermudians who want to make a difference, support rehabilitation, and contribute to the safety and well-being of the wider community. Those looking for a profession with purpose are encouraged to apply.”
