The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] will host its annual Tourism & Hospitality Networking Event from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday [March 18], sponsored by the Bermuda Tourism Authority and Discovery Wines.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] is hosting its annual Tourism & Hospitality Networking Event from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday 18 March. Sponsored by the Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] and Discovery Wines, this open house is free to attend for industry professionals and will highlight BUEI’s partnerships with Pedego Electric Bikes [Bermuda], The Botanist Cafe and more.
“Guests at the networking event will experience all that BUEI has to offer for residents and overseas visitors, including exciting new programmes being launched for the upcoming summer season! Key components of advancing Bermuda as a premier tourism destination include promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship, both of which are priorities amongst BUEI’s partnerships that nicely blend caring for the environment with the friendly hospitality that is synonymous with our beautiful island.
“Professionals working in the tourism, hospitality, and transportation sectors are invited to BUEI on 18 March to mix, mingle, and make meaningful connections. The evening provides opportunities for vibrant dialogue and brainstorming business ideas whilst enjoying a selection of complimentary beverages, light bites, door prizes, BTA Connect information sessions and mini tours of BUEI’s Ocean Discovery Centre.”
“BUEI is a leader in tourism, hospitality, community engagement and education, and we welcome everyone in to connect, explore, discover and inspire. Since launching this event in 2024, we have expanded to include a wider range of industry stakeholders, all of whom have direct interactions with overseas visitors. The aim of the networking event is to promote synergy amongst all who provide visitor experiences that advance and support Bermuda’s tourism products, especially those with a particular focus on the eco-friendly blue and green pillars of the National Tourism Plan.” said Traci Burgess, CEO of BUEI.
Davida O’Brien, BTA’s Director of Social Inclusion & Stakeholder Engagement added “We are pleased to support BUEI and its partners Pedego Bermuda and The Botanist in bringing members of Bermuda’s tourism and hospitality community together ahead of the upcoming season. Opportunities like this help strengthen connections across our industry and reflect our shared commitment to sustainable tourism. By working together, we can support the people and businesses that help create the experiences visitors enjoy when they come to Bermuda. We look forward to connecting with stakeholders, sharing updates, and helping the industry make the most of the opportunities in the season ahead.”
The Botanist Café commented “We are delighted to continue growing our partnership with BUEI, which supports our aligned commitments around sustainability, education and protecting Bermuda’s natural environment. At The Botanist Café, we believe that every choice — from the ingredients we source to the suppliers we support — should reflect care for our island home and its precious ecosystems. BUEI’s dedication to ocean conservation and environmental learning provides the perfect backdrop for this philosophy. Together, we are delivering experiences that bring people together and encourage more conscious, sustainable living. We are proud to support BUEI’s Tourism & Hospitality Networking Event and to stand alongside this phenomenal organisation that leads by example in championing Bermuda’s ocean heritage.”
Daley Furbert, Co-Owner of Pedego Electric Bikes Bermuda Co-Owner, stated “Pedego Bermuda is thrilled to partner with BUEI for a new City of Hamilton Tour. BUEI’s innovative approach to unifying the tourism sector and a shared commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our core values. Our motto at Pedego Bikes is “hello fun” and we are thankful for the opportunity to elevate the current offerings for land excursions in Bermuda with more options to offer visitors travelling with children and residents.”
A spokesperson added, “BUEI thanks all event sponsors and partners for their contributions and support for collaboration across multiple sectors that connect our beloved Bermuda with the rest of the world.
