Traffic Notice For Two Upcoming Lane Closures
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the motoring public of “two upcoming lane closures to facilitate paving works in Pembroke and Smith’s.”
A Government spokesperson said, “Road Traffic Notice No. 23/2026 relates to Spanish Point Road in Pembroke, where paving works will take place from Monday, 23 March 2026 to Friday, 10 April 2026.
“Road Traffic Notice No. 24/2026 relates to Verdmont Road in Smith’s, where paving works will take place from Tuesday, 16 March 2026 to Wednesday, 17 March 2026.
“On Spanish Point Road, the single lane closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily for paving works from the Spanish Point Boat Club through the Cox’s Hill roundabout.
“Traffic controls will be managed by representatives from the Ministry using stop-and-go signs. A possible detour route for cars and small trucks is Shaw Wood Road to Boss’s Cove Road to N. Cote Road.
“On Verdmont Road, the single lane closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily for paving works near the Hermitage Road junction.
“Traffic controls will also be managed by representatives from the Ministry using stop-and-go signs. Motorists are encouraged to use Middle Road or South Road to avoid paving works on Verdmont Road.
“Motorists are encouraged to use caution in both areas and plan travel accordingly.”
