Tuckers Point Golfers Donate $26,500
The Tuckers Point Golfers, also known as the “Hackers,” have donated $26,500 to the Committee of 25 to support families of children with medical, developmental or physical challenges in Bermuda.
A spokesperson said, “The Committee of 25 has received a generous donation of $26,500 from the Tuckers Point Golfers, strengthening the charity’s ability to support families of children with medical, developmental or physical challenges across Bermuda.
“Also known as the “Hackers” the Tuckers Point Golfers have been supporting the work of the Committee of 25 since 2018. The golfers contribute weekly, prior to their golfing and also donate proceeds from their Christmas raffle. The funds were formally presented to Jackie MacLellan, Vice-Chair of the Committee of 25, by head “Hacker” Rod Holloway.
“This donation will directly support the Committee of 25’s core work: providing needs-based financial assistance to help families access essential medical equipment, overseas treatment and travel, and other critical support — ensuring that no family has to navigate these challenges alone.
“Peter Borland, Board Member of the Committee of 25, said the donation reflects the community’s trust in the organisation’s mission.”
Peter Borland said, “The Committee of 25 exists to step in when families are under pressure and options feel limited. Support like this allows the charity to respond quickly and compassionately, making a tangible difference in the lives of children and their families.”
A spokesperson added, “Rod Holloway, reiterated that the golfers were proud to support an organisation with such a long-standing impact.”
Rod Holloway said, “The golfers are always keen to give back, and the Committee of 25’s work resonates deeply with our group. Knowing that these funds will directly support families in real and practical ways makes this effort especially worthwhile.”
A spokesperson added, “Jackie MacLellan, Vice-Chair of the Committee of 25, expressed gratitude on behalf of the organisation and the families it serves.”
Jackie MacLellan said, “This generous donation will help us continue our work of supporting families at some of the most challenging moments in their lives. We are sincerely grateful to the Tuckers Point Golfers for their compassion, generosity and ongoing commitment to our mission.”
A spokesperson added, “The Committee of 25 also acknowledges “Hacker” Brent Giannone for his significant behind-the-scenes support in assisting with the fundraising efforts alongside Rod Holloway.
“One of Bermuda’s oldest charities, the Committee of 25 has a legacy of supporting Bermuda’s most vulnerable children. The organisation continues to provide needs-based financial assistance for essential medical equipment, travel and related supports – helping remove barriers so that vulnerable children can thrive and participate fully in their communities.
