BELCO Plans Scheduled Outage In Paget
BELCO has advised that a planned outage on April 7 will affect parts of Paget from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as crews replace a faulty switch and carry out network upgrades.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited [BELCO or the Company] wishes to remind customers that a planned outage is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, affecting the following areas of Paget between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.:
- Southcote Road
- Treadway Lane
- Birdcage Lane
- Hilton Drive
“South Road [parts]
The primary purpose of this work is to replace a faulty switch. While this section of the circuit is de-energised, BELCO will also take the opportunity to retension the overhead conductors and replace crossarms and insulators as required. New poles have already been installed and are ready for the transfer. These upgrades will strengthen the network and support a safe and reliable electricity service for customers.
“Please note that these times are approximate and every effort will be made to minimise the duration of the supply interruption. In the event of inclement weather or changes to operational priorities, the outage will be rescheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the same time.
“Customers in the affected areas are encouraged to unplug sensitive equipment prior to the outage.
“BELCO thanks customers for their patience and cooperation as the Company continues its work to maintain a safe and reliable electricity supply for Bermuda.
“For further information, please contact BELCO at 295-5111.”
