Burrows Lead Virginia To Victory Over Bowie
Bermudian tennis player Alexcie Burrows led Virginia State University to a 6-0 victory over Bowie State University, contributing wins in both doubles and singles competition.
The Trojans won every match contested during the meeting, beginning with a sweep of the doubles round to earn the initial point. Burrows paired with Damita Bollers at the No. 1 doubles position to defeat Bowie State’s Daisy Pentorn and Mil’lanni Marte 6-0.
Virginia State maintained its advantage throughout the singles flight, with the team’s senior players winning the top three positions. At the No. 1 spot, Makensie Pago secured a victory to extend the lead. Damita Bollers followed with a win at No. 2 singles.
Burrows, competing in the No. 3 singles position, defeated Verneice Herndon without conceding a game. The 6-0, 6-0 result concluded a performance in which Burrows did not lose a game across either of her two matches.
