Community Asked To Help Find ‘Valentino’

April 7, 2026 | 0 Comments

The family of ‘Valentino’ — a dog who has been missing since Thursday – have appealed for the public to help locate him.

A spokesperson said, “The family of Valentino, a brindle and white Border Collie mix, is urgently seeking the public’s assistance after several days of coordinated search efforts. Valentino went missing last Thursday in the Middle Road/Tee Street area and was most recently sighted in the neighborhood just before Whitney Middle School.

“Community volunteers have been conducting organized search parties daily, covering residential areas, wooded paths, and connecting routes between Devonshire and the Arboretum. Despite a confirmed sighting, Valentino remains missing and is believed to be avoiding people, traffic, and noise due to fear and stress.

“Search organizers are asking residents to check quiet, secluded, or overgrown areas around their homes, including:
- Under porches and decks
- Behind hedges, sheds, and outbuildings
- Abandoned or rarely used structures
- Construction sites where he may be hiding or trapped

“Because Valentino is extremely shy around strangers, the public is urged not to chase or call out to him. If spotted, please remain still and immediately contact 735‑2002. The search team is also seeking assistance from anyone with a drone, especially those equipped with heat‑sensing capability, to help scan wooded or hard‑to‑reach areas.

“A WhatsApp group has been created for real‑time updates and volunteer coordination:

“Valentino is deeply loved, and the family is grateful for the community’s ongoing support. Continued vigilance and shared awareness are essential in bringing him home safely.
