Squash Results: STARR Bermuda Open Finals
The 2026 STARR Bermuda Open concluded at the Bermuda Squash Club with second seeds Nadine Shahin and Miguel Rodriguez claiming the championship titles in contrasting fashion.
In the women’s final, world No. 47 Nadine Shahin secured the crown after top seed Sabrina Sobhy was forced to withdraw due to injury. Sobhy, the world No. 19, held a two-set lead and was tied 7-7 in the third game when the injury occurred, resulting in a retirement that handed the title to Shahin.
The men’s championship featured a five-set marathon as world No. 24 Miguel Rodriguez upset top-seeded Kareem El Torkey, the world No. 21. Rodriguez opened the match with an 11-5 win in the first set before El Torkey responded by taking the next two sets 11-7 and 11-9.
Rodriguez forced a deciding fifth set by winning the fourth frame 11-5. The Colombian second seed then secured the 3-2 victory with an 11-7 win in the final set to finalize the championship win.
