‘Unstoppable’ Event Raises $9,000 For WRC
The ‘Unstoppable: See Me. Hear Me.’ fundraiser raised over $9,000 for the Women’s Resource Centre [WRC].
Lisa Lister Reed said, “While I’m grateful that Unstoppable: See Me. Hear Me. raised over $9,000 for the Women’s Resource Centre, events like this are just one part of a much bigger picture. Through the event partnership, I learned the Centre is working toward long‑term sustainability by building a strong circle of community supporters; 1,000 people committing $360 annually, to help ensure its counselling, advocacy, and support services remain available to women and families who rely on them.
“I hope this fundraiser not only celebrated the work of the WRC, but also encouraged continued public support through ongoing giving.”
A spokesperson said, “Thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors, prize contributors, and guests, including those who purchased tickets for others to attend, the event created a warm and uplifting atmosphere while helping to generate meaningful support for the Centre’s counselling, advocacy, and support services.
“Throughout the afternoon, guests were delighted by the whimsical setting, the delightful tea and fresh scones and treats, and the opportunity to enjoy a fabulous fashion showcase while supporting a cause that matters deeply to our community. The generosity of those who contributed prizes and professional services helped ensure that event expenses were minimized so that the greatest possible amount could be directed to the WRC.”
