Chatmore Introduces AI Learning Platform
Chatmore International School has implemented Century’s AI-powered learning platform across Years 2 to 11.
A spokesperson said, “Chatmore International School in Bermuda has become the first institution in the country to roll out Century’s AI-powered learning platform to its students, marking a significant step forward in personalised education on the island. Following a highly successful pilot programme, the school has now fully implemented the platform across Years 2 – 11, driven not only by strong academic outcomes but also by clear student demand.
The Challenge
“As a forward-thinking school, Chatmore International School has been exploring ways to use technology to enhance their personalised approach to education. Their nurturing environment caters for many levels of ability, with mixed-age classes and therefore personalisation is key to their approach. Teachers sought a solution that could provide tailored learning pathways, real-time feedback, and actionable insights without increasing workload. Supporting individual learning needs while also stretching and challenging students is essential to their success, ensuring that all learners are effectively catered for within the classroom.
The Solution
“Century’s AI learning platform was introduced face to face through Chatmore’s ‘No School is an Island’ Conference earlier in the year, which was supported by COBIS and which Chatmore students attended. Chatmore then took part in a structured pilot. The platform uses artificial intelligence to assess each learner’s strengths, gaps, and progress, creating personalised learning journeys across maths, science, and English.
Implementation
“During the pilot phase, students engaged with the platform both in school and at home. Teachers monitored progress through detailed analytics dashboards, allowing them to intervene more effectively and provide targeted support.
“What stood out most during the trial was the level of student engagement. Learners quickly adapted to the platform and began using it independently to reinforce their understanding and get ahead in their studies.
Student Response
“Following the pilot, student feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many students reported feeling more confident in their learning and appreciated the ability to work at their own pace. Notably, students themselves began requesting continued access to the platform.”
“There were no complaints to work using Century from our students. We primarily use it for home learning and short sessions in class which is a great compliment to our in-person and interactive learning approach. Our students understood the impact that this platform was making on their learning and saw how their learning could be even more personalised with the power of AI,” said Sandrine McGlashin, Secondary Teacher at Chatmore.
Results and Impact
- Increased student engagement and independent learning
- Improved confidence in core subject areas
- More efficient, data-informed teaching strategies
- Strong student advocacy for continued use
Teachers have also highlighted the platform’s ability to reduce time spent on repetitive assessment tasks, allowing for more meaningful interactions with students. “We have seen firsthand the increase in real academic outcomes with our IGCSE students who needed more practice in certain areas. The targeted practice generated by AI in real time made a clear difference to their learning and mock exam outcomes,” shared Britanni Butterworth, Head of School at Chatmore.
Looking Ahead
The spokesperson said, “With full implementation now underway, Chatmore International School plans to expand usage and embed the Century platform consistently into their teaching and learning practice. The school is also exploring opportunities to integrate Century further into its curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
Conclusion
“By becoming the first school in Bermuda to adopt Century’s AI learning platform, Chatmore International School is setting a new benchmark for innovation in education. The combination of measurable academic benefits and genuine student enthusiasm underscores the platform’s value not just as a tool, but as a catalyst for more personalised, engaging learning experiences.”
Head of School Britanni Butterworth enthused, “Our decision to introduce Century reflects our commitment to staying at the forefront of educational innovation. Being the first school in Bermuda to implement this platform is something we are incredibly proud of, not just because of the technology itself, but because of the impact it is already having on our students. Seeing their enthusiasm, independence, and growing confidence in learning has been truly inspiring. Century is enabling us to deliver even further on our promise of personalised education in a way that is both meaningful and sustainable for our entire school community. It’s important to note that this does not replace our in class learning; instead, it helps teachers and learners get what they need and to meaningfully close gaps in the right way for each student using the educators expertise and the power of AI and Century. We’re excited to move this partnership forwards.”
The spokesperson said, “Chatmore now joins over 70 COBIS schools who are using Century across the globe.”
