Hollywood Star Ryan Reynolds Joins SailGP
Hollywood met high-speed foiling in Bermuda as actor Ryan Reynolds got a firsthand taste of SailGP racing aboard the team’s F50.
A spokesperson said, “Joining driver Tom Slingsby and the Aussie crew on Bermuda’s Great Sound, Reynolds climbed onboard for a high-octane joyride before stepping straight into the heat of a practice race against some of the Rolex SailGP Championship fleet.
“And judging by his reaction afterwards, the experience left a lasting impression.”
“The most insane thing I’ve ever experienced,” Reynolds said after flying across the Great Sound at speeds of almost 90 km/h.
“It was crazy. The world needs to know more about this – it’s really nuts.”
A spokesperson added, “The visit marked another headline-grabbing moment for the BONDS Flying Roos, whose ownership group includes Reynolds and fellow Hollywood star Hugh Jackman as well as team driver Slingsby.
“Racing resumes at 1400 ADT – 1700 UTC – with the BONDS Flying Roos joint top of the event leaderboard.
“Tickets to the Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix are sold out, but you can find out how to follow the action from wherever you are in the world here.”
