Jessica Lewis Breaks 100 Record Again

Paralympian Jessica Lewis broke the Para Pan American record in the T53 women’s 100 metres for the second time in four days at the Swiss National Championships in Arbon.

Lewis clocked 15.55sec in the final to win silver behind Switzerland’s Catherine Debrunner, who won in 15.36. Belgium’s Joke Stragier was third in 20.29.

The time marked the first occasion Lewis has run under 16 seconds in the event.

Lewis had previously lowered the Para Pan American record with a time of 16.02 at the Daniela Jutzeler Memorial on Thursday.

“Today I went sub 16 in the 100 metres with a time of 15.55”,” Lewis wrote on social media. “I’m still processing.

“Congratulations to Catherine Debrunner for the win and a great battle.”
